Olli Jokinen was born on December 5, 1978, in Kuopio, Finland. He began playing hockey at a young age and quickly rose through the ranks of Finnish junior hockey. In 1997, he was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings with the third overall pick in the NHL Entry Draft.

Jokinen made his NHL debut with the Kings in 1997-98 and quickly established himself as a skilled offensive player. He played for the Kings for three seasons before being traded to the Florida Panthers in 2000.

NHL Career and Achievements

Jokinen played for the Panthers for six seasons and was a key member of their team that reached the Stanley Cup Finals in 2000. He then played for the New York Rangers, Phoenix Coyotes, Calgary Flames, and Toronto Maple Leafs before returning to the Panthers in 2013.

Over the course of his NHL career, Jokinen played in 1,230 games and scored 323 goals and 539 assists. He was a two-time NHL All-Star and won a silver medal with Finland at the 2006 Winter Olympics.

In addition to his NHL career, Jokinen also represented Finland in international competition. He played in the World Championships 10 times and won two gold medals and two silver medals. He also played in the Olympics three times, winning a silver medal in 2006 and a bronze medal in 2010.
