Web

A web is a sticky, net-like structure that spiders use to catch prey and to live in. Spiders weave their webs from a protein called silk, which they produce from glands in their abdomen.

Nest

A nest is a structure that birds build to lay their eggs and to raise their young. Nests can be made from a variety of materials, such as twigs, leaves, grass, and mud. Some birds, such as eagles and hawks, build their nests in trees. Other birds, such as robins and sparrows, build their nests in bushes or on the ground.

Tree

Burrow

A burrow is a hole in the ground that an animal digs to live in. Burrows can be simple holes, or they can be complex structures with multiple chambers and tunnels. Some animals, such as rabbits and groundhogs, dig burrows to escape from predators. Other animals, such as ants and termites, dig burrows to create a place to live and to raise their young.
